In a disturbing incident in the Thana Saddar Yazman area, a son fatally shot his father, allegedly to claim a Rs 2.5 million insurance money.
Police reports reveal that the victim, Ghulam Shabbir, held a life insurance policy worth Rs 2.5 million, which his son, Zubair, was aware of. Zubair, who was facing financial difficulties and planning to get married, was reportedly under significant mental stress.

According to the FIR, Zubair was encouraged by the mother of the girl he intended to marry to kill his father in order to access the insurance money.
Acting on this advice, Zubair, along with his mother and an accomplice, confronted his father, leading to a heated argument. During the altercation, Zubair shot his father and fled the scene. Ghulam Shabbir, critically injured, died before reaching the hospital.
A case was filed by a close relative of the victim, a local landowner, and the police quickly arrested Zubair. Authorities are continuing to search for the other suspects involved in the crime.
