The Punjab government has announced an immediate ban on the use of hose pipes across the province in a bid to curb water wastage as drought fears intensify. The ban affects a wide range of activities, including vehicle washing and water spraying in residential, commercial, and government facilities.
Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, Director General of the Environmental Protection Department, confirmed the measure, stating that it applies to all areas of Punjab and is effective immediately. “This restriction is essential to address the emerging water crisis,” he noted in a public statement.
