Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir paid tribute to the brave officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army for their outstanding bravery and dedicated service to the nation during a prestigious ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
The event also honored the sacrifices of the martyrs, with their families receiving medals in memory of their loved ones’ ultimate sacrifices.

In his speech, General Munir highlighted that martyrs and ghazis are a source of immense pride for the nation, emphasizing that their respect and dignity are sacred to every Pakistani.
“The peace and freedom we cherish today are owed to the sacrifices of these courageous sons of the soil,” he remarked, acknowledging the critical role of the fallen heroes.
According to a release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Munir presented top military awards, including the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-e-Bisalat, to officers and soldiers recognized for their outstanding valor.
Families of the martyrs received the medals on behalf of their loved ones, with many family members visibly emotional at the tribute paid to their sacrifices.
The Army Chief also expressed heartfelt admiration for the families of the fallen, praising their resilience and unwavering patriotism. “The fortitude shown by our martyrs’ families is a profound reflection of their love for Pakistan,” General Munir stated, calling them a vital pillar of the nation’s strength.
The ceremony saw the attendance of numerous senior military officials and families of the award recipients and martyrs. It served as a powerful collective homage to the selfless service and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and their families.
General Munir further commended the crucial role played by Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in combating terrorism, appreciating their ongoing efforts to safeguard the nation.
“Thanks to the relentless dedication and bravery of the Pakistan Army and LEAs, numerous terrorist threats have been successfully neutralized, ensuring the nation’s security,” he said.
