Instagram has just launched Blend, a brand-new invite-only feature that lets two users create a shared, personalised Reels feed — right inside their DMs.
After over a year of testing, the feature is now available globally. Blend curates Reels based on both friends’ interests and activity, creating a private space to discover and react to videos together.

Once a friend accepts your invite, the feed shows up in a chat-like thread with emoji reactions and messaging. A small Blend icon now appears in the top-right corner of DMs for easy access.
While the feature is currently Reels-only, it’s a clear push toward more co-watching and social discovery — and Instagram is reportedly also working on a standalone Reels app.
