A major breakthrough has occurred in the heartbreaking case of a 7-year-old girl who was abducted and murdered on Easter Sunday, as the key suspect was fatally shot during a police operation.
Police revealed that the accused, who was the child’s maternal uncle and allegedly struggled with drug addiction, was apprehended by a special unit late last night in the Mandra area. After his arrest, he was taken to Mureed Phatak to aid in recovering the suspected murder weapon.

While there, unidentified gunmen suddenly opened fire on the police team. In the exchange that followed, the suspect was seriously wounded and died en route to the hospital. His body was later transported to THQ Hospital in Gujar Khan. Authorities have since launched a manhunt to locate and arrest those responsible for the attack on the police.
The young girl’s body had earlier been found in an unfinished house located in a small housing scheme between Sunday and Monday night. Her father filed a complaint, leading to the registration of a formal case.
Investigations remain active, with law enforcement vowing to ensure that all individuals involved in the crime face justice.
