Lollywood Mourns Loss Of Prolific Writer Kamal Pasha

Veteran film writer Muhammad Kamal Pasha, known for penning scripts for over 300 Pakistani films, has passed away after a prolonged illness, leaving the film industry in deep grief.

He was receiving treatment at a local hospital, where his family confirmed his passing on Saturday. His death marks the end of an era for Lollywood, where he was considered one of the most influential creative voices.

Kamal Pasha was the son of iconic director Anwar Kamal Pasha and carried forward his father’s cinematic legacy with notable works like *Nikki Jai Haan*, *Raqasa*, and *Humayun Gujjar*. His decades-long contribution shaped the narratives of many hit films during Pakistan’s golden film era.

In March, the Punjab government extended financial assistance of Rs500,000 for his medical treatment, presented by Punjab Information Secretary Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani on behalf of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Fans and colleagues are now remembering him not just for his powerful storytelling, but also for his humility and dedication to Pakistani cinema.
