Lahore Airspace Partially Closed As Security Measures Tighten

Amid rising tensions with India, the Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), closing multiple air routes in Lahore’s airspace for commercial flights. The affected routes include J-186, J-165, and J-139, with the closure set to last for 24 hours due to “operational reasons.”

While airspace restrictions have been enforced over Lahore, authorities confirmed that flight operations at Islamabad Airport have been fully restored. However, inbound flights to Islamabad will require prior coordination and clearance from Air Traffic Control (ATC) before landing.

These aviation restrictions are part of a broader set of precautionary measures being undertaken amid the ongoing military standoff between Pakistan and India. Officials stated that the adjustments are aimed at safeguarding civilian air traffic during heightened regional tensions.

The situation continues to evolve, with authorities closely monitoring developments to ensure aviation safety across the country.
