Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Saturday to discuss the escalating tensions between Pakistan and India. Dar briefed his Saudi counterpart on recent Indian aggression and Pakistan’s calibrated military response.
Prince Faisal expressed sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and lauded Pakistan’s efforts to maintain restraint despite the provocations. He stressed the urgent need for both sides to de-escalate and avoid further deterioration of the regional security situation.

The Saudi foreign minister reiterated the Kingdom’s firm commitment to supporting peace and stability in South Asia. Both leaders agreed to stay in close contact and continue consultations on key regional issues.
