UN Warns Of Possible Second Nakba Amid Gaza Displacement Plans

The United Nations Special Committee investigating Israeli practices has warned that the world could be witnessing “another Nakba,” accusing Israel of ethnic cleansing and systematic human rights violations against Palestinians. The alarm was raised after the committee’s recent fact-finding mission to Amman, which reviewed evidence of Israel’s actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly Gaza.

The report highlights an Israeli plan to forcibly transfer hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from northern Gaza into six encampments in the south — a move international observers say mirrors the 1948 Nakba, when over 760,000 Palestinians were displaced. The committee asserted that Israel’s policies reflect broader colonial ambitions aimed at territorial expansion.

Beyond forced displacement, the report details widespread abuses, including systematic torture, inhumane treatment, and sexual violence by Israeli forces against Palestinian detainees. It also condemned Israel’s blockade on humanitarian aid to Gaza as a deliberate attempt to starve civilians.

The findings have reignited global calls for accountability and urgent intervention to prevent further displacement and suffering in Gaza and beyond.
