PCB Halts Domestic Cricket Amid Regional Tensions

PCB

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended all ongoing domestic cricket tournaments, including the President’s Trophy Grade-II, in light of the current regional situation. The tournaments will resume once the environment stabilizes and a ceasefire is officially confirmed.

Other suspended events include the Regional Intra-District Challenge Cup and the Inter-District U19 One-Day tournament. The PCB assured that all competitions will restart from their current stages once it is safe to do so.

This move follows the earlier postponement of the remaining eight matches of HBL PSL Season 10. The decision was made on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as the nation’s focus shifts to supporting the armed forces.

Acknowledging the sacrifices of the security forces, the PCB emphasized that while cricket brings unity and joy, it is essential to pause during critical national moments. The board also thanked players, franchises, and stakeholders for their cooperation.
