Punjab To Establish Thalassemia Centers In All Divisions

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given principle approval for setting up thalassemia centers in every division of the province. The decision was announced during a meeting of the Department of Health and Population Welfare, where a broader healthcare improvement agenda was discussed.

Maryam Nawaz also praised the success of Operation Bunyan Marsoos, stating it had bolstered national confidence and unity. She acknowledged the role of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in strengthening national security through nuclear tests, describing it as a milestone in making the country unconquerable.

The Chief Minister called for a comprehensive plan to ensure a steady supply of quality blood for patients across Punjab. A new policy to establish a central monitoring system for healthcare services was also approved to enhance accountability and efficiency.

Additionally, she directed officials to expedite the ongoing revamping of hospitals, emphasizing the urgent need for improved healthcare infrastructure throughout the province.
