At least five people were killed and four others critically injured when a dumper truck overturned near Akhri Mint Stop in Lahore’s Baghbanpura area on Wednesday.
According to Rescue 1122, the dumper lost control and flipped over, crushing two rickshaws and a motorcycle. The collision was so intense that several people were trapped beneath the heavy vehicle.

Emergency teams responded swiftly, rescuing four injured individuals from the wreckage and transporting them to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
Rescue officials confirmed that all five deceased victims died at the scene. The dumper has since been removed, and a thorough search was carried out to ensure no one remained trapped. The deceased were identified, including 10-year-old Hafiza, 12-year-old Aima, and a 24-year-old man. Two others were named as Dawood and Rafaqat.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar took notice of the tragic accident and requested a full report from the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore. He instructed DIG Operations to identify and hold those accountable and called for the immediate arrest of the dumper driver, stressing that all responsible parties must face legal consequences.
