Petrol and Diesel Prices to Drop in Pakistan Amid Global Market Easing

A significant reduction in petrol and diesel prices is expected in Pakistan over the next two weeks, following a drop in global oil market prices and a decrease in the import premium on petrol. Sources report that petrol prices could decrease by up to Rs3.5 per litre, while high-speed diesel may drop by Rs7 per litre.

The price adjustments align with a decline in international oil prices, with petrol dropping by around $1.5 per barrel and diesel by $3 per barrel over the past fortnight. Currently, the ex-depot price of petrol stands at Rs252.63 per litre, and the final price revision will be confirmed on May 15, 2025.

This reduction in fuel prices comes as global oil markets ease, contributing to lower import premiums and a decrease in international crude prices.
