Government Initiates Crackdown on Anti-State Campaigns on Social Media

Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has launched a crackdown targeting individuals accused of running anti-state hate campaigns on social media.

Cases have been registered against five people — Adeel Raja, Moeed Pirzada, Muhammad Umar, Nazir Butt, and Ahmed Noorani — who are alleged to have spread false and provocative content against state institutions, particularly during heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.

The FIR states that the accused circulated misleading propaganda aimed at creating unrest and undermining national stability. The NCCIA has vowed to take strict action against anyone involved in spreading chaos or targeting state entities.

Authorities are also appealing to the public for help in identifying more individuals involved in anti-state activities online. Citizens are encouraged to share relevant information such as posts, screenshots, and names via WhatsApp to assist the investigation.
