Kusal Perera Returns to Lahore Qalandars as PSL 2025 Resumes

Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Perera has rejoined the Lahore Qalandars squad for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 season.

Kusal Perera arrived in Lahore early this morning ahead of the teamโ€™s important match against Peshawar Zalmi on May 18. Alongside him, two other international players, Shakib Al Hasan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa, also joined the squad as replacements for the injured Tom Curran and Daryl Mitchell.

At 34 years old, Perera is well-known for his aggressive batting style and extensive T20 experience, having scored over 4,500 runs in the format.

Expressing his enthusiasm upon arrival, Perera said, โ€œIโ€™m thrilled to be back with the Lahore Qalandars. Playing in the PSL has always been a great experience, and returning at such a critical point in the tournament is a privilege. Iโ€™m committed to giving my best to help the team succeed and make the fans proud. Iโ€™m eager to join my teammates at the hotel so we can prepare and push forward together.โ€

Sameen Rana, the Team Director of Lahore Qalandars, warmly welcomed Pereraโ€™s return, stating, โ€œWe appreciate Kusal stepping up at this crucial stage of the competition. His wealth of experience and energy will be invaluable for the team, and weโ€™re delighted to have him back wearing the Qalandars jersey.โ€

It is important to mention that PSL X faced a temporary pause due to escalating border tensions with India. The tournament resumed on May 17, with the final scheduled to take place on May 25 at Lahoreโ€™s Gaddafi Stadium.
