A prominent medical specialist, Sheikh Mehmood, was tragically shot dead on Friday by an unidentified assailant disguised in a fake uniform at Fatima Hospital, located under the jurisdiction of Sajid Shaheed Police Station.
According to initial reports, the attacker was impersonating a sweeper associated with the Suthra Punjab project. He arrived at the hospital under the pretense of seeking medical attention and opened fire on Dr. Mehmood when an opportunity arose.

DPO Sargodha Suhaib Ashraf, along with investigation teams, reached the scene and transferred the body for legal formalities. A large-scale search operation has been launched to apprehend the suspect.
In parallel developments, district police arrested 24 individuals during raids across Sargodha. Narcotics and illegal weapons were recovered during these operations.
Separately, in an ongoing crackdown against Proclaimed Offenders, police also arrested a fugitive named Hasnain, who was wanted for the murder of Muhammad Manzoor over a minor dispute.
