Over 7.7 million children under the age of five will receive polio vaccines and Vitamin A supplements during a major health campaign launching May 26 across 11 districts in South Punjab.
According to the Health and Population Department, the initiative spans 42 tehsils and 933 union councils, with a deployment of 31,370 teams — including 28,837 mobile, 1,524 fixed, and 1,010 transit teams — to ensure thorough coverage.

Officials confirmed that all logistical and operational preparations have been completed. The campaign aims not only to prevent polio but also to enhance physical and mental development through Vitamin A distribution.
Special Secretary Muhammad Shehbaz Hussain has directed health officers to monitor operations across each district and urged parents to support vaccination workers to help safeguard their children’s future.
