NAB Recovers Over Rs88 Billion in First Quarter of 2025

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced that it recovered more than Rs88 billion during the first three months of 2025, with a large portion linked to housing and infrastructure-related corruption cases.

According to official data, direct recoveries stood at Rs2.08 billion, while indirect recoveries—mainly from land retrieval—amounted to nearly Rs86 billion. These assets have been returned to affected government departments, financial institutions, and victims of fraud.

NAB Lahore led with Rs70.87 billion recovered from major housing scams, while NAB Balochistan reclaimed 590 acres of illegally occupied public land valued at Rs6.45 billion. Other notable recoveries included Rs8.53 billion by NAB Sukkur and Rs560 million by NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Direct disbursements included Rs1.99 billion paid to over 19,000 fraud victims, with significant compensation issued in the Eden Housing and SHG scams in Lahore. NAB’s cumulative recoveries have now crossed Rs6.2 trillion, with nearly two-thirds achieved in the past 18 months.
