A powerful cloudburst in the outskirts of Muzaffarabad, near the Balgran area, caused a massive landslide that destroyed multiple homes and badly damaged a mosque. Local authorities confirmed that a woman lost her life in the tragedy, while several others remain missing as rescue operations continue.
The incident has heightened concerns across the region as heavy rainfall continues to lash Neelum Valley. Areas including Athmuqam, Lawat, Dowarian, Doodniyal, and Sharda have seen intense downpours, offering some relief from the heat but causing serious disruptions.

The situation is similar in Arang Kel, Shounter Valley, and Gurez Valley, where continuous rainfall has significantly cooled the temperature.
Due to flash flooding, the Neelum Highway between Barian and Mirpura has been closed for traffic. Authorities report that the Leswa and Balgran streams have overflowed, submerging several houses and increasing the risk of further destruction.
Emergency response teams are on-site, and residents have been urged to remain cautious. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing to locate those missing and to assist displaced families.
Officials have warned of more rainfall in the coming hours and are monitoring the situation closely.
