Tremors Shake Swat and Zhob as Early Monsoon Looms Over Pakistan

Tremors were again felt in Swat and nearby areas for the second consecutive day, registering a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale.

The Seismological Centre reported the earthquakeโ€™s epicenter in the Hindu Kush mountain range at a depth of 97 kilometers. Fortunately, no casualties or damage to property have been reported.

Meanwhile, Balochistanโ€™s Zhob region also experienced an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, with the epicenter located about 60 kilometers southeast of Zhob and a depth of 40 kilometers, according to the Seismological Centre.

Separately, the Meteorological Departmentโ€™s director general announced that the monsoon season is likely to start roughly a month earlier than usual this year. Typically, Pakistanโ€™s monsoon period occurs in July and August.
