Pakistan’s IT Exports Cross $3.14 Billion Amid Industry Boom

Pakistan’s information technology sector has shown impressive growth in the ongoing fiscal year, with IT exports increasing by over 21 percent, according to a report presented by the Ministry of IT to the Senate Standing Committee.

From July to April, IT exports surpassed $3.14 billion, making the IT sector the country’s top-performing service export. Additionally, the registration of IT companies has grown by 19 percent, with more than 20,000 firms now registered with the Pakistan Software Export Board.

The ministry credited the growth to continuous efforts in innovation, talent development, and digital infrastructure improvements. Officials reaffirmed their goal of turning Pakistan into a regional hub for digital services and foreign investment.

Senate committee members praised the progress and encouraged the government to maintain momentum through enhanced support for training programs and tech ecosystem development.
