The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has alerted the public about a severe heatwave likely to grip the country during the Eid holidays.
Forecasts indicate that northern areas could see temperatures soar up to 7°C above the seasonal average until June 12, while southern parts may face a rise of 4 to 6°C above normal.

The PMD urged people—particularly children, elderly individuals, and women—to take protective measures, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and stay well-hydrated.
Additionally, officials cautioned that the intense heat may speed up glacier melt, potentially affecting water flow in downstream regions.
