Punjab to Fund COMSATS Education for Workers Children CM Maryam

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a major education initiative allowing children of industrial and mine workers to gain admission to seven campuses of COMSATS University with full fee coverage provided by the Punjab government.

Applications for this opportunity are now open under the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund, with special inclusion for children of disabled and deceased workers. CM Maryam emphasized that higher education is now within reach for every working-class family in the province, stating, “No child in Punjab will be deprived of education now.”

Registered workers can apply at various COMSATS campuses on scheduled dates, including July 9 in Islamabad, July 17 in Lahore, July 4 in Wah Cantt and Abbottabad, July 11 in Vehari and Attock, and August 15 in Sahiwal.

In a separate message marking Father’s Day, CM Maryam paid tribute to fathers, calling them “umbrellas that protect children from life’s scorching heat.” She wished that every child receives a father who inspires dreams and helps turn them into reality.

On Global Wind Day, she also highlighted Punjab’s potential for wind energy in the Thal region and said the government will explore projects through public-private partnerships.
