Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program as Israel’s foremost strategic goal, asserting that his country is “on the path to victory” in its intensifying confrontation with Tehran.
Speaking during an interview with a British media outlet and later at an online conference, Netanyahu claimed that the Israeli Air Force now maintains “complete control of Tehran’s airspace.” He stated that Israeli forces have successfully destroyed hundreds of Iranian rockets and numerous missile launch sites in recent operations.

“We will not allow Iran to build nuclear weapons under any circumstances,” Netanyahu said, describing this objective as a red line. He accused Iran of persistently working toward acquiring both nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missile capabilities, which he described as a direct threat to regional and global security.
In a controversial moment during an ABC News interview, Netanyahu neither confirmed nor denied reports that Israel had considered targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei—a plan reportedly opposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump. “It’s not going to escalate the conflict, it’s going to end it,” Netanyahu said, justifying aggressive moves as efforts to stop decades of Iranian-backed regional instability.
Netanyahu concluded by drawing stark comparisons between Iran’s leadership and historical regimes, referring to Iranian nuclear scientists as “Hitler’s nuclear team,” and defending Israel’s preemptive strikes as necessary to prevent what he termed a looming nuclear crisis.
