In a heartbreaking incident in the remote, mountainous region of Ardengji in Khuzdar, unidentified gunmen targeted the family of former Balochistan Chief Minister Naseer Mengal. The ambush claimed the life of his son, Atta-ur-Rehman Mengal, and left his young grandson seriously injured.
According to district officials, the father and son were out on a hunting trip when a group of over 30 armed assailants attacked them. The Deputy Commissioner of Khuzdar confirmed that rescue teams and Levies personnel were immediately sent to the scene to secure the area and assist the victims.

The injured child was quickly airlifted to Khuzdar Civil Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical care. Medical staff have not yet released details about his condition.
So far, no militant group or individual has claimed responsibility for the assault. Security forces have launched a formal investigation and are conducting search operations in the rugged terrain to locate and apprehend the attackers. Patrols have also been intensified in the area to prevent further incidents.
