Pakistan Extends Airspace Restrictions for Indian Aircraft by One Month

Pakistan has opted to extend its airspace closure for Indian aircraft by another month, with an official Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) expected to be issued later today to formalize the decision.

The original airspace restriction was implemented on April 24 due to rising tensions between Pakistan and India. It was initially extended on May 23, and the current NOTAM is set to expire today. However, authorities have now decided to prolong the restriction for an additional month.

The updated NOTAM will include the specific terms of the extended ban, which continues to target only Indian aircraft. The move is part of Pakistanโ€™s ongoing efforts to maintain the safety and security of its airspace amid regional tensions.

Itโ€™s important to note that Pakistan’s airspace remains open to all other international carriers, and the restriction solely affects Indian flights. As a result, Indian aircraft have been facing operational difficulties, including the need to take longer alternative routes to bypass Pakistani airspace.
