The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has apprehended two suspects, including an employee of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), over their alleged involvement in leaking and selling sensitive personal data.
As per NCCIA Hyderabad, the arrested NADRA official, identified as Abdul Hakeem, a junior executive, was found to be unlawfully accessing and sharing confidential information from the organization’s database.

His associate, Mohsin Iqbal, reportedly provided him with national identity card numbers of individuals, which were then used to extract personal data.
Authorities have linked suspicious WhatsApp accounts to both Abdul Hakeem and Mohsin Iqbal through forensic examination of their mobile devices.
Preliminary findings suggest that the duo had been engaged in the illegal sale of citizens’ private data across multiple cities for an extended period, conducting transactions online in exchange for money.
A case has been formally registered against the two, and further investigations are currently ongoing.
