Trump Says Gaza Ceasefire ‘Very Close’ After Iran Strikes Shift Middle East Dynamics

Trump

Former US President Donald Trump has claimed a Gaza ceasefire deal is near, linking the progress to recent American airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites and renewed diplomatic momentum in the region.

Speaking at the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump said, “Great progress is being made on Gaza,” and credited the Iran strikes for showing US strength and helping to reopen talks. He suggested that the show of power “helped a little bit” in restarting ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas.

Trump also acknowledged his advisor Steve Witkoff, calling him “terrific” and a key source behind his understanding of the Gaza situation. “He just explains it so easily,” Trump added, hinting that a deal could be finalized soon.

Qatari officials confirmed that the recent Iran-Israel ceasefire helped revive Gaza talks. However, they warned that despite progress, sensitive details remain unresolved and the situation is still fragile.
