RAW Network Busted in Pakistan as CTD and SIU Arrest 10 Suspects Linked to Indian Spy Agency

In a major counter-intelligence breakthrough, Pakistani authorities have arrested 10 individuals allegedly linked to India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), with four captured in Karachi and six others detained from various districts in Punjab. The coordinated crackdown, described as a significant disruption of foreign-sponsored terrorist activity, was unveiled in joint briefings by security officials on Wednesday.

The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) revealed that six Pakistani nationals were apprehended for facilitating RAW operations, including smuggling explosives, planning attacks, and sharing sensitive information. Key arrests were made in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Toba Tek Singh, where officials recovered IEDs, detonators, safety fuses, and confidential maps. Authorities say the group was plotting attacks on a mosque and a railway station.

According to CTD officials, intercepted audio messages from senior RAW officers, identified as Major Ravindra Rathore and Inspector Singh, exposed detailed plans for terrorist strikes and targeted killings. The group was allegedly funded via Dubai through cryptocurrency and informal banking channels to avoid detection.

Meanwhile, Karachi police’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) detained four suspects in a separate raid in the Quaidabad area of Malir. The men, accused of spying for RAW since at least 2009, were allegedly gathering intelligence on military and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) installations. One of the suspects, Muhammad Khan Bariyo, was reportedly in contact with a BSF Colonel named Ranjeet and frequently passed on geo-tagged photos and troop deployment data via WhatsApp.

A sensitive Pakistan Army training manual was also recovered, along with mobile phones containing the contact number of the Indian handler referred to as “Boss.” Forensic analysis is underway to uncover the full extent of the espionage network.

Officials have termed the arrests a “major success” and warned that further investigations are ongoing to dismantle remaining RAW-linked elements in Pakistan.
