A major oil and gas discovery has been made in the Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to an announcement by Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL), the firm spearheading the exploration.
POL disclosed the news to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, confirming that the find was made in the Tal Block.

The newly identified well is projected to yield around 22 million standard cubic feet of natural gas daily, along with an estimated 2,112 barrels of crude oil per day.
The company’s official statement noted that drilling operations commenced in December 2024, and the reserves were located at a depth of 3,887 meters.
The well is expected to be linked to the production network within the next two months.
