Following the heartbreaking deaths of tourists in a sudden flood surge in Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has taken decisive action by suspending multiple government officials over negligence and poor emergency response.
According to CM spokesperson Faraz Mughal, initial findings revealed serious lapses by local authorities. The Babuzai assistant commissioner was suspended for a delayed response, while the Khawazakhela assistant commissioner was removed for failing to act on weather alerts. The ADC Relief and Rescue 1122’s district in-charge were also suspended for lack of preparedness and coordination.

In addition to these suspensions, CM Gandapur has ordered a full inquiry by the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT) to investigate administrative failures in detail. The inquiry will determine the extent of negligence and identify others who may be held accountable.
The chief minister emphasized that those responsible for risking public safety will face strict disciplinary action. “No one will be spared,” said Mughal, warning of further suspensions once the inquiry concludes.
