Residents of Karachi are being urged to prepare for another spell of monsoon rains, with the second phase forecasted to reach Sindh around July 5 or 6. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued an early alert, warning of potential downpours in the city by July 7 or 8.
Deputy Director of the Meteorological Department, Anjum Nazir Zaigham, stated that Karachi’s weather will remain partly cloudy over the coming days, gradually leading up to the next rainfall. He emphasized the need for caution, especially after the first monsoon spell caused urban flooding in several areas due to blocked drainage systems.

The earlier rains overwhelmed key locations in the city, exposing vulnerabilities in Karachi’s infrastructure. With more rain expected, residents are advised to clear nearby drains and secure their homes against potential water accumulation.
City authorities have also been instructed to remain on high alert and ensure emergency measures are in place to prevent another round of flooding. Citizens are encouraged to monitor weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain periods.
