In a rather unusual incident, police in Rawalpindi have registered a theft case after a resident reported the stealing of naswar (snuff) worth Rs300. The incident took place in the Dhok Banaras area and was formally recorded at the Race Course police station.
According to police officials, the complainant contacted the emergency helpline 15, stating that ten packets of naswar had gone missing from his possession. Responding swiftly, police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.

Despite the low monetary value of the stolen item, authorities took the complaint seriously and proceeded with legal action under standard theft charges. The case has drawn attention due to its unique nature.
Police officials confirmed that a search operation to find the suspect is underway. They expressed confidence that the individual responsible would be apprehended soon, reinforcing that every citizen’s complaint is treated with due importance.
