Shim Jae-hyun, popularly known as Jaehyun and a former member of the K-pop boy band F.ABLE, has passed away at the age of 23 following a quiet struggle with leukaemia. Korean media reported that the singer died on June 29 after years of privately battling the illness.
Jaehyun’s diagnosis was never made public, making the news of his passing all the more shocking for fans and fellow artists. Though he had stepped back from the spotlight in recent years, many fans remembered him fondly for his time with F.ABLE, a group that debuted as a five-member act.

Tributes have poured in from the K-pop community and heartbroken fans. “This hurts really bad,” one fan posted online. “His suffering is now over.” Another shared, “He was really special and important to me.”
F.ABLE bandmate Hojun took to Instagram to express his sorrow, writing, “I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there for your last journey.” He continued with an emotional message: “Thank you for the roughly 5 years. I will pray that you eat a lot of delicious food and do well. Come visit me in my dreams.”
Jaehyun’s untimely death has left a deep void in the hearts of fans and fellow musicians, reminding many of the fragility of life behind the glamour of fame.
