The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has announced that there will be no loadshedding on the 9th and 10th of Muharram 2025 to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for religious observances.
A PESCO spokesperson stated that special arrangements have been made to guarantee a steady power supply to imam bargahs and procession routes. A total of 94 feeders have been designated to provide continuous electricity throughout the two-day period.

To manage the effort, a dedicated control room has been established at PESCO’s headquarters, where senior officials will monitor operations around the clock. In addition, power lines along procession routes have been removed to enhance safety and prevent any potential disruptions.
Meanwhile, the Peshawar district administration has imposed Section 144 to maintain peace and security during Muharram. Measures include a ban on pillion riding, the movement of Afghan refugees, aerial firing, hate speech, and the misuse of loudspeakers.
The administration also announced the suspension of hotel room bookings, inns, and rent-a-car services within city limits during the sensitive days to prevent misuse and ensure public safety.
