The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially announced the date for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025. According to PMDC officials, the nationwide exam will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
This announcement came during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination. The session was chaired by Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, where PMDC representatives briefed the committee on the upcoming test schedule and preparations.
The PMDC MDCAT 2025 will be conducted simultaneously across Pakistan to ensure fairness and transparency in the admission process. The test plays a crucial role in selecting students for medical and dental colleges.
In addition to the test date, the PMDC has also released a new curriculum for MDCAT 2025. As per PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj, the revised exam will cover five key subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning.
The PMDC MDCAT 2025 will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with a duration of three hours. The test will follow a simple pattern — no negative marking will be applied. Questions will be divided into difficulty levels: 15% easy, 70% moderate, and 15% difficult.
To qualify for admission, candidates must score at least 55% marks for medical colleges and 50% for dental colleges. These criteria aim to maintain merit-based selection while providing equal opportunities to all students.
PMDC is also working on building a comprehensive question bank for the MDCAT. The curriculum has been developed with input from education boards, universities, and academic experts to ensure alignment with current educational standards.
The PMDC MDCAT 2025 is expected to be a transparent and competitive exam, shaping the future of thousands of aspiring medical professionals in Pakistan.
