The investigation gained momentum after NAB gathered credible evidence pointing to systemic corruption. This prompted the bureau to escalate its inquiry into an official investigation. In its efforts to recover the misappropriated assets, NAB has already seized and frozen assets worth over Rs. 25 billion.

Among the seized assets are substantial amounts of cash and valuables, including over Rs. 1 billion in cash, foreign currency, and 3 kg of gold. NAB has also frozen 73 bank accounts, recovering approximately Rs. 5 billion. The scandal also involves the confiscation of 77 luxury vehicles, such as Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Land Cruisers, valued at Rs. 940 million.

The real estate sector has not been spared. NAB has seized 109 properties, which include 30 houses, 25 apartments, 12 commercial plazas, 12 shops, and 4 farmhouses. The total value of these properties exceeds Rs. 17 billion. Additionally, NAB has confiscated 175 kanals of agricultural land spread across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Abbottabad, and Mansehra.

As the investigation unfolds, NAB arrested contractor Muhammad Ayub, who confessed to his involvement in dealings with senior officials of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. His statements suggest the involvement of influential figures, deepening the scope of the probe.

The ongoing investigation by NAB continues to reveal more about this complex and high-profile corruption case. With millions of rupees recovered and more revelations expected, this case is set to be one of the most significant in the region’s history. As more information comes to light, it is likely that further arrests and asset seizures will follow.

NAB’s determination to uncover the full extent of the scandal signals a strong stance against corruption in Pakistan. With its focus on transparency and accountability, NAB hopes to restore public trust and bring those responsible to justice.
