Popular Telugu Actor Fish Venkat Dies at 53 After Battle With Kidney Disease

Popular Telugu actor Fish Venkat, whose real name was Venkat Raj, passed away on Friday at the age of 53. He died at a private hospital in Hyderabad after battling kidney-related health issues for a long period. His passing has left fans and the Telugu film industry devastated.

Fish Venkat had been suffering from severe kidney failure, and his condition worsened in the days leading to his death. Doctors confirmed that his kidneys had completely failed, and he required a kidney transplant to survive. Recently, his daughter, Sravanthi, had shared a heartfelt video, revealing that the family could not afford the cost of the necessary transplant, which was estimated to be around Rs. 50 lakh.

Born in Hyderabad, Fish Venkat began his acting career in the early 2000s with a small role in the film Kushi. He later became known for his comic roles and unique acting style. Venkat’s charm and sense of humor won over the audience, and he became a favorite for his performances in movies like Bunny, Adhurs, Dhee, and Mirapakay. His strong screen presence and comedic timing made him a beloved figure in the Telugu film industry.

During his health crisis, Venkat’s family sought help, and his daughter mentioned that Prabhas’ assistant had promised financial support for the transplant. However, the family later clarified that the offer was made by a fake caller pretending to be Prabhas’ assistant, and no funds had been received. On a more positive note, actor Pawan Kalyan reportedly donated Rs. 2 lakh to assist the family during this difficult time. Venkat’s daughter also appealed to other stars like Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, and Jr. NTR for help in finding a suitable kidney donor.

Fish Venkat’s death has left a void in the Tollywood industry, especially in the comedy genre, where he made significant contributions. He is survived by his wife, Suvarna, and daughter, Sravanthi. His recent works include roles in Slum Dog Husband, Narakasura, and Coffee with a Killer. Fish Venkat’s legacy will live on through the laughter and joy he brought to many with his work in the film industry.
