Standard Chartered Bank has informed its customers about a planned system maintenance that will cause a temporary disruption in its credit card services across Pakistan.
According to the official message sent to clients, the credit card services will be unavailable from 7:00 PM on 26 July 2025 to 5:00 AM on 27 July 2025. During this time, customers will not be able to make transactions, view statements, or manage their cards online.
The bank has advised users to complete any important credit card payments or bookings before the maintenance window begins. The service disruption is expected to impact users nationwide.
This is part of Standard Chartered’s regular system upgrade process. Similar maintenance has also been carried out recently in other countries, including India, where the bank temporarily suspended digital services for updates.
In Pakistan, such system outages are common across all major banks. Institutions like Silkbank have also issued notices regarding maintenance-related downtimes that affect debit cards, mobile apps, and online banking platforms. These temporary disruptions are generally scheduled during overnight hours to minimize inconvenience to customers.
System maintenance is essential for keeping banking services secure and reliable. Banks carry out updates to fix bugs, improve security, and enhance performance. Although it may be inconvenient in the short term, these upgrades help prevent larger technical problems in the future.
Customers of Standard Chartered are urged to plan accordingly. Any urgent transactions or card usage should be completed before 7:00 PM on 26 July. Normal services are expected to resume by 5:00 AM the following morning.
