The Indian Army on Tuesday denied reports of any ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch region. Some Indian media outlets had claimed that Islamabad opened fire, breaking the truce.
In a brief statement, the Indian Army clarified that the situation along the LoC remains calm. “There have been some media and social media reports regarding ceasefire violation in Poonch region. It is clarified that there has been NO ceasefire violation along the Line of Control,” the statement read.
Pakistani officials did not issue an immediate response, as the request for comment was made outside regular working hours.
Meanwhile, Pakistan observed the sixth anniversary of Youm-e-Istehsal on the same day. The day marks the abrogation of Article 370 and the imposition of direct Indian rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan’s armed forces reiterated their support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
A joint statement from the military leadership, including Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and other service chiefs, condemned what they described as India’s “continued illegal occupation” of IIOJK.
The statement, released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said the region faces “an unrelenting military siege, systemic human rights violations, and demographic changes” that violate international laws.
Pakistan’s military leadership further stressed that the Kashmiri people have the inalienable right to self-determination under multiple United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
They criticized India’s “repressive actions and incendiary rhetoric,” warning that such policies risk escalating regional tensions and increasing human suffering.
The Indian Army continues to maintain that no truce violations occurred, even as Pakistan highlights ongoing tensions over Kashmir.
