Flight Operations at Islamabad Airport Shut Down for 8 Days — Here’s Why

Islamabad airport will experience temporary flight suspensions on select days in August due to rehearsals for Pakistan’s Independence Day parade. The Pakistan Airport Authority announced the schedule changes to ensure smooth security and logistics.

According to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), flights will be halted on August 11, 12, and 13 from 8 pm to 10 pm. Airlines have been instructed not to schedule any arrivals or departures during these hours.

Additionally, Islamabad airport will face flight suspensions from August 6 to 9 and August 11 to 14 at various times. During these eight days, flights will also be paused between 11 am and 1 pm to accommodate daytime parade rehearsals.

The Pakistan Airport Authority urged passengers to check their flight schedules carefully. Airlines are expected to adjust flight timings and inform travelers about any changes.

These temporary suspensions are part of the security measures and preparations for Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day celebrations. The federal capital will host the event with full ceremonial displays.

Passengers flying through Islamabad airport during these dates should remain vigilant and confirm flight details to avoid inconvenience.
