Zhob Operation Kills 3 More Militants, Death Toll Reaches 50 ISPR

The Zhob Operation in Balochistan has entered its fourth day, with security forces killing three more Indian-sponsored militants, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the ISPR, weapons, ammunition, and explosives were seized from the militants during the latest encounter. With these deaths, the total number of militants killed in the ongoing Zhob Operation has reached 50.

The military’s media wing stated that the operation aims to eliminate terrorist threats and secure Pakistan’s borders. It reiterated that the armed forces remain committed to preventing any attempt to disrupt peace, stability, and development in the region.

The Zhob Operation is part of broader security measures in Balochistan, where militant groups have been active for years. Security forces have intensified their actions to counter these threats, particularly along border areas.

In a related development, the United States has officially designated the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its militant wing, the Majeed Brigade, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). This decision was announced by the US Department of State on Monday.

The Majeed Brigade has also been added as an alias to the BLA’s existing Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) status, which was first imposed in 2019. The US cited the groups’ involvement in multiple deadly attacks across Pakistan as the reason for the designation.

Officials believe the combined actions of Pakistani security forces and international partners will help weaken the operational capabilities of such militant networks.

The ongoing Zhob Operation reflects Pakistan’s determination to tackle terrorism and ensure long-term stability in Balochistan and beyond.
