IPP Demands Creation of New Provinces Across Pakistan

Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has formally called for the creation of new provinces by dividing the existing four provinces.

According to the proposal, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan should each be divided into three parts: North, South, and Central. However, the original provincial identity would remain intact under this plan.

The demand was presented during a meeting in Islamabad chaired by IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan. Senior leaders, including Minister of State Aun Chaudhry and IPP Punjab President Rana Nazir Khan, also attended.

As per the party’s statement, the IPP Central Committee has already passed a resolution supporting the formation of new provinces. Abdul Aleem Khan stated that with the rapidly growing population, this step has become necessary. He explained that new provinces would allow people to resolve issues locally, while institutions such as the High Court and Inspector General could function more effectively.

He added that citizens would not need to travel long distances to provincial secretariats for basic needs. Instead, essential facilities would become available at the local level, improving governance and accessibility.

Highlighting the long-standing debate, Abdul Aleem Khan noted that discussions about dividing provinces have been ongoing for the last 25 years. However, these talks often remained limited to politics without any practical action.

He stressed that the time has come to move beyond rhetoric and act through mutual consultation. According to him, new provinces would strengthen national unity, reduce linguistic divides, and contribute to economic stability.

The call for administrative restructuring marks a significant step, as IPP demands practical measures to ensure better governance and balanced development across Pakistan.
