Germany, Austria Among Five Countries to Appoint New Ambassadors to Pakistan

President Asif Ali Zardari has underlined the importance of boosting bilateral cooperation with Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Austria, and Germany. He said the focus should be on trade, economy, and culture to strengthen ties between Pakistan and these countries.

The president shared these views while meeting the High Commissioner-designate of Sri Lanka and the Ambassadors-designate of Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Austria, and Germany. The envoys called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr, where they formally presented their diplomatic credentials.

The High Commissioner-designate of Sri Lanka, Rear-Admiral H.L.A. Don Fred Senevirante, presented his documents. Alongside him, the Ambassador-designate of Indonesia and Chairman of ASEAN Countries, Chandra Warsenanto, also submitted his credentials.

Kylychbek Sultan, the Ambassador-designate of Kyrgyzstan, Wolfgang Oliver Kutschera of Austria, and Ina Ruth Luise Lepel of Germany were also part of the ceremony.

Upon arrival, the envoys were welcomed with a guard of honour presented by a contingent of the Armed Forces. The ceremony reflected Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic engagements with friendly nations.

President Zardari congratulated the High Commissioner and the Ambassadors on their new assignments. He expressed confidence that their tenure in Pakistan would help expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. He said Pakistan values strong diplomatic relations and remains open to new opportunities for collaboration.

The meeting also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to expand international partnerships beyond traditional trade. The president stressed that cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts are equally important in building trust and long-lasting relations.

With the new Ambassadors taking charge, Pakistan hopes to further deepen its ties with Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Austria, and Germany. The government aims to broaden cooperation in business, technology, education, and cultural initiatives to strengthen long-term partnerships.
