Piero Hincapié is attracting strong interest from Premier League clubs, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal pursuing the Bayer Leverkusen defender amid rising transfer speculation.
Tottenham have made a formal approach to Leverkusen, proposing a loan deal with an obligation to buy for approximately €60 million. Hincapié is said to be open to a move, with personal terms already under discussion. Spurs aim to bolster their defence with a versatile left-sided centre-back who can also operate at left-back.
While Tottenham accelerate their efforts, Arsenal are also entering the race, reportedly aiming to hijack the deal. The Ecuadorian centre-back’s £52 million release clause makes the move feasible, and he has expressed a clear desire to leave Leverkusen.
Despite the active interest, Leverkusen are still reluctant to sell, hoping to keep Hincapié as a vital part of their defensive setup. The club considers the 23-year-old a long-term cornerstone under their current project.
Hincapié, who plays as a left-sided centre-back and can fill multiple roles in defence, is valued for his technical composure and passing ability. If a transfer happens before the window closes, it will mark a significant shift in defensive squads in the Premier League.
