Floodwaters from the Ravi River entered Park View Housing Society in Lahore after a protective embankment was breached late Sunday night. The flooding affected several residential blocks, including Diamond, Overseas, and Platinum, leaving many residents in distress.
As water levels rose quickly, families began to evacuate their homes. Many shifted to safer areas, but a significant number of people still remain inside their houses despite repeated evacuation warnings. Emergency services and rescue teams are working in the area to ensure residents move to safety.
Videos circulating on social media show floodwater rushing into homes while rescue officials assist in evacuations. One user shared a video claiming it was filmed in Park View City, Street 51, Platinum Block. He described how the water level reached five feet overnight but later dropped slightly to 4.5 feet. Authorities hope levels will continue to decrease in the coming hours.
According to reports, the Ravi River’s water flow has increased sharply at Shahdara and Baloki, creating a very high flood level at Shahdara. This surge has caused Park View Housing Society near Chuhang on Multan Road to be submerged.
Lahore Deputy Commissioner (DC) Musa Raza stated that the Ravi River is currently carrying 211,000 cusecs of water. However, he assured that a reduction in water levels is expected within 10 hours. He also confirmed that no fatalities have been reported in Lahore so far.
Authorities said around 2,000 residents were already evacuated in earlier operations. For those unable to leave, 18 relief camps have been established to provide shelter and basic necessities.
Rescue officials continue to monitor the high-risk areas closely. With the river still flowing at dangerous levels, authorities are urging all residents of Park View and nearby areas to evacuate immediately and cooperate with relief teams to avoid further risks.
