Newcastle Complete Record Deal for Woltemade

Woltemade to Newcastle

Newcastle have agreed a club-record transfer for German striker Nick Woltemade. The deal has been settled with VfB Stuttgart. The fee is one of the highest in the club’s history, surpassing the amount paid for Alexander Isak.

Newcastle will pay around £70 million, including add-ons. Woltemade is set to travel to Tyneside for his medical. This follows weeks of interest from rival teams. Bayern Munich had also targeted him but failed to meet Stuttgart’s valuation.

The 23-year-old scored 17 Bundesliga goals last season and impressed at the Under-21 European Championship. He won the Golden Boot after a standout campaign with Germany’s youth side.

This signing comes at a critical time for Newcastle. Star striker Alexander Isak is pushing for a move to Liverpool and has not played this season. Woltemade’s arrival could allow the club to consider a sale if a strong bid arrives.

Newcastle had chased several other forwards this summer but failed to land options like Wissa and Šeško. Those setbacks made the Woltemade move even more vital.

The German striker will likely provide an immediate boost. His size, physical presence, and goal-scoring ability suit Newcastle’s style of play. He could slot into the starting eleven quickly, especially with Anthony Gordon suspended for upcoming matches.

For Newcastle, this deal signals ambition. It shows they can attract top young talent despite competition from other major clubs. For Woltemade, it means a step into one of Europe’s strongest leagues. Both sides now look forward to the season with high expectations.
