Pakistan-born Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza has achieved a major milestone in his career. The International Cricket Council (ICC) released its latest ODI and T20 rankings on Wednesday, confirming his rise to the top spot among ODI all-rounders.
Raza’s consistent performance in the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka played a key role in this achievement. His all-round brilliance helped him displace Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi, who had long held the No.1 position.
Alongside his all-round ranking, Raza made progress in other formats too. He climbed nine places in the ODI batting rankings to reach 22nd. In bowling, he moved up one position to 38th. These improvements highlight his growing impact with both bat and ball.
In ODI batting, Pakistan’s Babar Azam maintained his No.3 spot. Mohammad Rizwan dropped to 26th, while Fakhar Zaman advanced to 27th. These shifts reflect the competitive nature of the current rankings.
The T20 rankings also saw several changes. Babar Azam slipped three places to 21st, and Mohammad Rizwan moved down to 22nd. Hasan Nawaz improved two spots to 31st, but Saim Ayub fell to 40th.
In T20 bowling, Sufiyan Muqeem made impressive progress, rising 11 places to 22nd. Shaheen Afridi gained eight spots to reach 26th. Haris Rauf, however, slipped four places and now stands at 28th.
Cricket experts view Sikandar Raza’s rise as a significant moment for Zimbabwe cricket. His journey from Pakistan to Zimbabwe, and now to the top of ICC rankings, shows his dedication and skill. Fans and analysts believe his success will inspire young cricketers across both nations.
With this achievement, Sikandar Raza has firmly established himself as one of the leading all-rounders in world cricket.
