‘Next Time It will Be 60-0’: PAF Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan Warns Enemies on Defence Day

KARACHI – Air Vice Marshal Shahryar Khan delivered a strong message on Pakistan’s 60th Defence and Martyrs’ Day, warning that any enemy aggression would face a crushing reply.

Speaking at the ceremonial change of guard at Mazar-e-Quaid, the chief guest recalled the courage and sacrifices of September 6, 1965. He highlighted Pakistan’s military readiness, stressing that the spirit of Defence Day continues to inspire the armed forces.

“Next time, it won’t be 6-0 — it will be 60-0,” he said, referencing the downing of six Indian fighter jets, including Rafales, during the May conflict. He described this as a symbol of the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) strength and resilience.

Operation Bunyanun Marṣuṣ Remembered

The Air Vice Marshal also referred to “Operation Bunyanun Marṣuṣ,” calling it a revival of national unity and determination. He emphasized that Pakistan’s enemies have always faced defeat when challenging the country and would continue to encounter strong retaliation.

“The Air Force stands ready on every front and remains a solid wall in defence of the homeland,” Shahryar Khan added.

During the event, a contingent from the PAF Academy Asghar Khan assumed guard duties at Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum. The Air Vice Marshal laid a floral wreath, offered tribute to the founder of Pakistan, and inspected the guard of honour.

Commanding officers also paid respect to martyrs and their families, pledging to safeguard the sovereignty of Pakistan at all costs.

Nationwide Observance

Across the country, Defence and Martyrs’ Day was marked with patriotic zeal. A 31-gun salute was held in Islamabad, while provincial capitals observed 21-gun salutes. Special prayers were also offered in mosques for the nation’s peace, unity, and prosperity.

The day served as a reminder of Pakistan’s resilience and the armed forces’ pledge to defend the homeland against all threats.
