Shaheen Afridi Picks This Player as Toughest Opponent Over Virat Kohli

Pakistani pacer Shaheen Afridi has revealed that South Africa’s Hashim Amla is the toughest batter he has ever bowled to, placing him ahead of India’s Virat Kohli.

Speaking on the Bricks to Riches podcast, the left-arm fast bowler shared his experience of competing against Amla across different formats. “I have played Test and ODI cricket against Hashim Amla.

He is a tough opponent. I also bowled to him in the Vitality Blast in England, which is a T20 tournament. I felt he is a very good batter,” Shaheen Afridi said.

When asked to compare Amla with Kohli, he responded, “Virat Kohli is a different player, but Hashim bhai is the toughest.”

Shaheen Afridi also spoke about his cricket journey and career goals. The young fast bowler has been a key figure for Pakistan in all formats, earning recognition for his pace, swing, and ability to deliver in crucial moments.

Former West Indies cricketer and commentator Ian Bishop earlier praised Shaheen, calling him Pakistan’s “baby Starc.” Bishop highlighted the bowler’s ability to attack the stumps consistently, drawing comparisons with Australia’s left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc.

Shaheen Afridi has continued to establish himself as one of the most dangerous bowlers in world cricket. His performances in Tests, ODIs, and T20 leagues have earned him global respect. Fans and experts alike consider him the leader of Pakistan’s bowling attack.

As Pakistan prepares for upcoming international fixtures, Shaheen’s role will remain vital. His candid remark about Hashim Amla reflects the challenges faced by bowlers against technically strong batters.

With his growing experience and determination, Shaheen Afridi looks set to dominate cricket for many more years.
